Between Two Worlds: The Challenge of Preaching Today
Examines contemporary objections to preaching, looking in particular at the influence of television and computer technology. Explores theological foundations for preaching, discusses how to overcome obstacles to Bible study, and how to prepare sermons. Addressed to the head as well as the heart, this book will encourage and challenge ministers and laypersons to give themselves wholeheartedly to their calling—to make known God's message of salvation to a world in dire need of hearing it.
Required reading option in Category A for FLS interns.
Much of what passes for Christian writing today is superficial and only skims the surface of truth. C. O. Rosenius plumbs the depths of spiritual truth to bring the reader to true peace with God. Though written 150 years ago, these timeless translations from "Pietisten" ("The Pietist") are as much needed by the restless souls of today as they were during Rosenius' time.

Lectures to My Students
Though best remembered as the most popular preacher of the Victorian era, C. H. Spurgeon was also founder and president of the Pastor’s College in London. He supervised the training of over 800 students, presided at an annual conference for ministers, and, on Friday afternoons, delivered regular lectures on every aspect of pulpit ministry.
Featuring such gems as “The Minister’s Fainting Fits”; “Posture, Action, Gesture, etc.”; and “On the Choice of a Text,” this unabridged edition of 28 of Spurgeon’s classroom discourses on homiletics overflows with practical wisdom, discerning wit, and sage advice. Covering the call, open-air preaching, ordinary conversations, using illustrations, and conduct outside the church, Spurgeon’s words are as rich and nourishing for pastors and students today as they were more than a century ago.
CHAPTERS INCLUDE
• The Minister’s Self-Watch
• Our Public Prayer
• On Spiritualizing
• The Blind Eye and the Deaf Ear
• On Conversion as Our Aim
• The Sciences as Sources of Illustration
An excellent and useful gift for pastors and seminary students, church history enthusiasts, and even collectors and readers of classic Victorian literature.

The Imperfect Pastor: Discovering Joy in Our Limitations through a Daily Apprenticeship with Jesus
Dear Pastor,
Desire burns within you. You’ve trained and dreamt of doing large things in famous ways as fast as you can for God's glory. But pastoral work keeps requiring your surrender to small, mostly overlooked things over long periods of time.
You stand at a crossroads. Jesus stands with you. You were never meant to know everything, fix everything, and be everywhere at once. That's his job, not yours.
So what now? Let the apprenticeship begin.

The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name
While other Kids’ Bibles contain stories from the Old and New Testaments, The Jesus Storybook Bible tells the Story beneath all the stories in the Bible, pointing to Jesus as our Savior. From the Old Testament through the New Testament, as the Story unfolds, children will clearly see that Jesus is at the center of God's great story of salvation—and at the center of their story too. The Jesus Storybook Bible contains 21 stories from the Old Testament and 23 stories from the New Testament, presented in an easy-to-understand way that makes learning about the Bible as fun for younger children, preschool and below, as it is for older children, kindergarten to sixth grade.
